What's the Problem?

The FEED Foundation’s mission is to raise awareness and funds to improve the food system for all people. Our mission supports awareness and intervention to address the dilemma of 1 billion people hungry and 1 billion people overweight on our planet in three primary areas:

FEED Food Security

Food security - exists when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.

The one billion people hungry are mostly overseas, including 400,000 children, but the crisis of food security also exists at home. Today nearly 50 million of 1 in 4 Americans, live in households that are unable to afford the food they need to lead full lives daily.

FEED School Feeding

School Feeding - Our first step toward a sustainable food system is to ensure healthy school meals for all children. In-school meals are critical drive for many children to go to school and around the world as well as a key source of nourishment. We believe that all children should go to school, have access to school meals and that all school meals should be highly nutritious.

More information on School Feeding, see the: WFP 2 Minutes about School Meals

FEED healthy food

Healthy Food - Access to healthful food is just as important as the calories themselves. By developing and supporting regional and local food systems that provide a variety of nutritious foods, we will be a better-nourished world. We support international and domestic sustainable agriculture, food-based and supplemental nutrition programs and farm-to-table projects, with the goal of making a healthy global system a reality.
